COLD MOUNTAIN BAND
The COLD MOUNTAIN BAND are an acoustic five
piece consisting of five stringed banjo, mandolin, fiddle, double
bass and guitar. Tight vocal harmonies interlaced with virtuoso
solos make up the bands sound. The make up of the band points
towards bluegrass music but the width of the bands material and
influences gives a many sided and entertaining prospect. Just like
in the old days the band utilise only one microphone producing a
"real" acoustic sound while at the same time providing a
show that is entertaining and enthralling.
The band made their first appearance at the Swedish premier of the
movie "Cold Mountain" in Stockholm while they were still
nameless and from which they took their present name.
Since this the band haven't looked back, making regular appearances
at parties, pubs, community centres, town halls, shopping centres,
office parties and bluegrass festivals. Also of note is the fact
that they are the official band for the Saltsjö Square Dancers
where they appear regularly. They also played
themselves all the way to the semi-final of
TV 4’s Sweden’s Got Talent (Talang
2010).

Bass, vocals
Rock steady on the double bass but equally
at home with the claw hammer banjo.
Has also played with Goldrush, Premium Hogwash Old Timey Stringband,
High Note Grabbers and Cutaway.

Tina Sundberg
Fiddle, vocals
Firmly established in bluegrass music but
with roots in Swedish folk music, Tina is also a talented
nyckelharpa (keyed fiddle) player.
Has also played with The Flatland Pickers, Black Creek och Betty
Bass & The Boys.

Sterner
5-str banjo, vocals
Extremely creative - not just
as a musician and songwriter - he is the inventor of the
smallest guitar capo in the world. Is also currently engaged in
devising a new and secret method to intonate fretted instruments.

Whitehead
Guitar, vocals
A man with folk music in his blood, both his
father and "uncle" were recognised English folk artists.
Rob teaches music and is equally at home with rock n'roll as he is
with folk music which contributes to the bands wide and varied
repertoire. In 2001 love brought this Mancunian to Sweden.

The bands sound man, Johnny is also an
accomplished banjo and guitar player and has for many years taught
the banjo. Has previously played with Nervous Breakdown and Betty
